Time for another giveaway!

Hello again…just a quick little post about my current giveaway. You may know that I love notebooks…small ones, big ones, lined, grid…you name it. I thought I would share a set of one of my favorites with one lucky winner.

So…I’m giving away a set of these Field Notes. This is the Ambition set which is their most recent seasonal release and it’s gorgeous!

This giveaway will be open through January 3rd, 2015. I will pick a winner on Sunday January 4th, 2015 and announce it here on my blog. In order to enter the giveaway for the notebooks you must be a follower of my blog and leave a comment on this post. In your comment, please share at least one thing you are addicted to collecting. (You know I like notebooks, pens, stamps…the list goes on.)

I am also doing another giveaway on my Youtube channel (AKCaraboo) which you can find here.

Good luck and have a great week!

Tons of Seattle Fun

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic holiday! I had such a good time in Seattle I thought I would share a bit of it with you.  We stayed in downtown Seattle close to where my son and his fiancé live and walked almost everywhere we went…which means we walked every single day. It was my first time being in a big city at Christmas so I loved seeing the Christmas decorations.

It was so pretty! And there was so much to do…we checked out the new Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room. It’s huge!

Here’s the inside…

The one thing I didn’t take a picture of is the little cafe where you can sit and have a meal. We had some yummy pizza and you can have beer or wine there as well. It’s not just about the coffee any more!

We also visited the Pike Place Market. I think that is something you have to do whenever you visit Seattle.  I like checking out all the fresh produce and the flowers.

The bouquets are seasonally themed and gorgeous! My son picked up one for their holiday table. They smell fantastic!

And of course there are always lots of goodies to eat!

I also went to a new store this trip…a bookstore found in the International district…Kinokuniya. This store is found inside Uwajimaya, an Asian supermarket. This store was so good that I went twice!

All in all we had a great time visiting with my son, walking around the city, eating, walking around the city, shopping…did I mention that we walked around the city…a lot? Seattle is an awesome place but I don’t think it’s really a city you go to have a relaxing vacation. There’s just too much to see and do.

So I am home now enjoying my last day off before I head back to work…hope you all have a great week!

And the winner is…

“Hi Cara…Great idea with the new blog. Hugs, Mary”
Mary Allen
Congrats Mary Allen! The Standard Memorandum is all yours! Please email (my email is listed on the side of the blog) me your address information so I can get this little cutie in the mail to you!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone!

Just cuz’

Do you ever buy anything just ‘cuz you like the way it looks? Even when you don’t really need it and can’t think of how you would use it? I am imagining all of you nodding your heads and here’s my response…I KNOW, me too! 😉 I stumbled across one such item last Friday. I didn’t really plan to venture out on “Black Friday” but I was getting a little bored at home and figured by one in the afternoon the crowds wouldn’t be too bad. I wanted to go to a local art store but when I got there they were closed. So I decided to head to the Barnes and Noble down the street. I thought I could pick up a crafty magazine. Unfortunately, there weren’t any that I wanted so I was just wandering around the store looking for stocking stuffers when I saw this pretty little journal. Now you may know that I am a lover of notebooks and journals and paper but I really don’t “need” any more. Trust me I have plenty.

But it’s so pretty and it’s pink! And check out the inside…

It has sewn signatures and…

…a pocket in the back! And did I mention it was pink!

Of course, price does matter…you have to draw the line somewhere right? But this little beauty was only $10.99. Sold! It now lives in my collection waiting for me to decide how to use it.

So I’m curious…what was the last thing you bought just ‘cuz?
